Jonathan Avery is a National Sector Manager at Standards Australia. In this role, Jonathan leads standardisation initiatives with a particular focus on energy and electrotechnology, environment and quality management sectors. Jonathan is also the Secretary of the IEC Australian National Committee. Jonathan has extensive operational experience in standardisation, having spent four years in the standards development team, both leading a team of project managers and managing the delivery of his own projects, including AS/NZS 3000 Wiring Rules. Jonathan previously served in multiple project manager/engineering roles in Australia, Europe and sub-Saharan Africa delivering civil infrastructure projects in telecommunications, mining and public works. Jonathan holds a Bachelor of Engineering, a Bachelor of Science and a Masters of International Relations
Jonathan Avery will be discussing the international asset management standard, ISO 55000, which was adopted in November 2014. Jonathan will focus on the key elements of the standard that apply to utilities and managers of critical infrastructure. He will also discuss the ongoing work of Standards Australia in keeping ISO 55000 up to date, with current active projects including new documents covering the alignment of asset management, finance and accounting, and government asset management policy.
